About us
In 2016, Brookside Community Centre almost closed down, but thanks to the collaboration of local residents, Brookside Big Local, Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council, and Telford and Wrekin, Brookside Central CIO was established to continue operating the centre.
Brookside Central CIO is now being run by the community for the community, working together to create more opportunities for our residents and surrounding areas.
All of our Trustees, staff and volunteers are local to the Brookside area. So have great geographical and wider community knowledge.
Brookside Central CIO essentially acts as a hub, providing opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds, to socialise, learn and access key services from across Telford and Wrekin. We partner with various organisations to provide free community courses, community groups, youth club and service drop in sessions.
We also hire out all rooms within the community centre for a variety of meetings, training courses, events and private functions.
As a charitable organisation, any profits generated are reinvested back into the centre, which is managed by a diverse Board of Trustees representing different user groups and residents.
